In our continued effort to bring the most advanced technology available to our patients, Santa Clara Vision Center is proud to offer the inclusion of the Optomap retinal exam as an integral part of your eye exam.

Your doctor is concerned about retinal problems resulting from systemic diseases such as diabetes, stroke, high cholesterol, and high blood pressure, as well as eye conditions such as macular degeneration, glaucoma, retinal holes, and retinal detachments.  These conditions can lead to serious vision problems, including partial loss of vision, and blindness, and can, sometimes, develop and progress without symptoms or warning.

An Optomap Retinal Exam provides:

• An eye wellness scan
  
• An in depth view of the retinal layers (where disease can start).
  
• The ability for you to view your Optomap retinal image with your doctor during your exam
  
• A permanent, annual record for your medical file, which will aid the doctor in diagnosing potential eye disease, and tracking the progression of retinal conditions.
